Design Related Concepts: Resources & Sustainability Science Related Concepts: Conditions & Balance Global Context: Fairness and Development Statement of Inquiry: Systems can be designed to provide the balanced conditions to fairly develop sustainable resources for our community. Inquiry Questions: -What are food deserts? -How do we get our food? -What ecological principles can we incorporate into our garden design that optimize the growth of food crops? -How can the physical conditions of our garden be optimized for growing food crops? -How does access to food resources affect us? -Given our resources and conditions, can we develop a system to provide all food crops needed to sustain our school cafeteria for students' nutritional needs? |
